Woman Struck, Killed By Pickup Truck In Hit-Run Crash At Busy Westchester Intersection
A hit-and-run suspect is at large after a woman was struck and killed by a pickup truck at a busy intersection in Westchester. It happened on Thursday, Nov. 28, at approximately 5:20 p.m. in Yonkers. Members of the Yonkers Police Department responded to 47 Yonkers Avenue at the Oak Street intersection on a report of a motor vehicle having struck a pedestrian. A 40-year-old man wanted on a warrant for a hit-and-run crash was arrested at an area police station while complaining about a custody issue. Ulster County resident Luis David Banegas-Cartagena, 40, of Saugerties, was arrested around 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 15, while at the Saugerties Police Headquarters because of a custody dispute he was having with the mother of his children, said Village of Saugerties Police Chief Joseph A. Police Looking For Van In Connection With Hit-And-Run
Police are asking the public's help identifying a van linked to a Hudson Valley business wanted in connection with a hit-and-run crash on Monday, Nov. 11. There were no reported injuries in the crash, which occurred at Parkway Circle in Clark, New Jersey. Surveillance images released by police show a white Ford Econoline with Massachusetts plates, a dented door and address information for a business in Newburgh. A 66-year-old woman from the Hudson Valley was killed by a “heartless” hit-and-run driver. Sheryl Augustine of New Paltz in Ulster County was struck by a car on Wednesday, Oct. 16, while walking in Brooklyn. A 38-year-old man has pleaded guilty to a felony of leaving the scene of an incident without reporting in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left an area woman dead. A 38-year-old man has been charged in the hit-and-run death of a 34-year-old woman following a crash on March 30. Kiera Babcock of Otisville was killed in the Orange County crash on State Street in Otisville about 11:15 p.m. on March 30 when an eastbound pickup truck struck her, state police said.
