Person Standing On Platform Killed After Coming Into Contact With Train In Westchester
A person was killed after coming in contact with an incoming train overnight in Westchester County. The incident took place in Westchester around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, April 13 at the Hasting-on-Hudson station. According to MTA officials, a person standing on the platform at the station came in contact with the side of a Croton-Harmon bound train as it was approaching the station. MTA Police, Metro-North Railroad, and rescue personnel responded, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene. New Update: Metro-North Service Resumes After Train Derails Near New Canaan Station
This story has been updated. MTA service has resumed along the New Canaan branch following a train derailment. The derailment took place around 7:25 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14 at the Elm Street station, causing heavier than normal traffic in the area of Elm Street and Park Street due to the ongoing investigation, said the New Canaan Police. ID Released For Man Struck, Killed By Metro-North Train Near Darien
Metro-North officials have released the identity of a 50-year-old man who was hit and killed by a train last week. John Hickey, 50, of New Canaan, was struck and killed Thursday night near Darien, said Metro-North officials. The incident took place around 7:35 p.m. Dec. 13 at Noroton Heights. The train had departed Grand Central at 6:49 p.m. headed for New Haven. Hickey was pronounced dead at the scene. MTA Police are investigating.

ID Released For Woman Hit, Killed By Metro-North New Haven Line Train
A woman who was killed by a Metro-North New Haven Line train Thursday night has been identified, according to the MTA. Tricia Plotnik, 35, of Milford, was hit around 9 p.m. by a Grand Central-bound train just east of the Milford train station, said MTA spokesman Aaron Donovan. The incident caused delays, but MTA officials don't believe any criminal activity was involved. MTA police are investigating the incident, Donovan said.
