Westchester Native Who Was Longtime Sales Rep Dies At Age 91
A man who grew up in Westchester County and spent more than 50 years working at an insurance company in Connecticut has died at the age of 91. Fairfield County resident Anthony “Tony” Ragusa, of Wilton, died at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, Aug. 4, following a brief illness, according to his obituary. He was born in Port Chester and graduated from Port Chester High School. Ragusa went on to study at Mercy College and serve in the United States Army from 1954 until 1956 when he was honorably discharged, his obituary said. A popular family-run supermarket known for its upscale food and service is adding a new location in the area. After several years of zoning issues, Caraluzzi's Market is finally back to work on its fourth Fairfield County store, which will be located in Danbury. Caraluzzi's now has markets in Wilton, Newtown, and Bethel. The story behind the new Danbury store started back in 2014 when the company purchased property at 102 Mill Plain Road. Erratic Driving Stop On Route 7 In Georgetown Leads To DUI Charge For Danbury Man
A Danbury man faces multiple charges after an erratic driving incident in Georgetown, police said. Thanksgiving afternoon around 12:30 p.m., Wilton Dispatch received a report of a blue Chevy Cruze driving recklessly on Route 7 (Danbury Road) in Georgetown. The caller stated that the vehicle nearly hit the guardrail numerous times while swerving. The vehicle was allegedly stopped by patrol around Pimpewaug Road.
