Westchester Beaches May Be Impacted After Raw Sewage Was Discharged Into Croton River There may have been an environmental impact to beaches in Cortlandt after more than 50,000 gallons of untreated sewage were dumped into the Croton River on Wednesday in Ossining. Officials in Croton-on-Hudson sent an email to local residents on Thursday afternoon, alerting that an estimated 57,000 gallons of sewage into the river.
