Shrub Oak Man, 28, Faces DWI Charge After Traffic Stop
A man from Shrub Oak is facing DWI charges after he was pulled over for a traffic infraction, police say. A Yorktown police officer initiated a traffic stop on Glen Road on Saturday, March 16 around 3:30 a.m. The officer pulled the vehicle over after observing the driver fail to keep right while driving with an obstructed view. Further investigation revealed that the driver, identified as 28-year-old Oliverio Mejia, Jr. of Shrub Oak, was allegedly driving while intoxicated. A 59-year-old man was arrested for alleged drinking and driving after being involved in a midday, one-car crash in Northern Westchester. Officers from the Yorktown Police Department were dispatched to Granite Springs Road near the intersection of Quaker Church Road in Yorktown Heights shortly after 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, where there was a reported one-vehicle crash. An area man was busted by New York State Police troopers after they say he drove himself to the Brewster barracks. Brewster resident Elmer O. Marcos Velasquez was tasked with picking up someone who had been released from the barracks on Sunday, March 3, police said. Beacon Woman Charged With DWI After Route 9W Traffic Stop
A Dutchess County woman was among five busted by New York State Police troopers Orange County for alleged impaired driving. Troopers stopped Beacon resident Tina Owen, 35, on Wednesday, March 6, on State Route 9W in Newburgh for committing a vehicle and traffic law violation. A Putnam County man has been indicted on charges that he killed a bicyclist while driving drunk. A grand jury voted on Wednesday, March 6 to indict Kent resident Silvio Tenesaca on charges that include vehicular manslaughter for his role in the death of George Rosalino on Nov. 27 last year. An Orange County man was one of six allegedly impaired motorists who were busted by New York State Police troopers overnight when he was involved in a crash. New York State Police investigators were dispatched to West Mombasha Road in Monroe late on Thursday, Jan. 24, where there was a reported motor vehicle crash.
