Two Men Nabbed In Connection With String Of Area Burglaries, Police Say
Two men were arrested in connection with a series of alleged burglaries that included a church, a business, and a shed in the area.
Dutchess County residents Stephen Dachs, 22, of Red Hook, and Xavier Christiansen-Mulher, 22, of Rhinebeck, were arrested Tuesday, Dec. 10, following an investigation by Rhinebeck police into area burglaries, said Rhinebeck Police officer Darren Bondar.
According to police, the business and church, along with the shed, were broken into on the morning of Dec. 10, with several items stolen.

Man Charged In Armed Robbery At Wendy's In Area
A man is behind bars after being identified as the suspect who allegedly was involved in an armed robbery in the area, police said.
Orange County resident Daniel Webster, 44, of Middletown, allegedly walked into Wendy’s on Route 211 East in Wallkill at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, brandishing a handgun and demanding a manager open the restaurant’s safe, the Town of Wallkill police said.
It is alleged that Webster took an unknown amount of cash after making the threat and took off, prompting a police investigation.

Man, Woman Accused Of Breaking Into Area Home, Stealing Property
A man and woman were busted for burglary after they allegedly broke into a home in the area.
Edward Santiago, 37, and Isabel I. Negron, 37, both of Poughkeepsie, were arrested on Sunday, Oct. 6, in Highland by Town of Lloyd police after they allegedly broke into a home on Oakes Road and stole property, said Lloyd Police Lt. James Janso.
Santiago was charged with burglary, criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny and unlawful possession of marijuana, Janso said.

A high-speed chase in Northern Westchester by New York State Police led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man who fled to evade officers during an attempted traffic stop.
Michael F. Burton Jr., of the Bronx, was arrested around 2:20 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24, for criminal possession of stolen property, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
The incident began around 2:20 p.m., when troopers spotted Burton driving a 2019 BMW 530I at a high rate of speed on I-684 in the town of Lewisboro, said Hicks.

Patrick I. Singleton, 23, of the City of Poughkeepsie, and Johnny H. Johnson, 20, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, were arrested around 3:11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11, after Town of Poughkeepsie Police received a call about a break-in, said Capt. Michael O’Dowd.

Man, 23, In Stolen Vehicle Caught After 12-Mile I-684 Chase, Police Say
A 23-year-old man driving a stolen vehicle is behind bars after taking state troopers on a 12-mile chase on I-684.
It started at around 1:50 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5.
At approximately 1:50 a.m., troopers patrolling I-684 in the town of Bedford initiated a traffic stop on a northbound taxi for an infraction of the vehicle and traffic law.
The operator of the 2019 Toyota Camry, identified as Begnauth Renseroop, of Queens, failed to comply, and led troopers on the chase, state police said.

89-Year-Old Woman Wakes To Find Strange Man Sitting On Her Bed
An 89-year-old woman woke up to find a man sitting on her bed in her clothes after he had stolen items from her bedroom as she slept, Town of Lloyd Police said.
The woman, "who was petrified," began to talk with Renny G. Widrew, 46, address unknown, around 5 a.m., Monday, Sept. 2, in an effort to keep him calm, said Town of Lloyd Police Lt. James Janson.
