Hudson Valley Couple Admits Killing Grandfather, Stealing His Belongings, DA Says
A Hudson Valley man and woman have pleaded guilty to murder and manslaughter in connection with the strangling death of the man's grandfather.
According to the Rockland County District Attorney's Office, the couple "brutally" killed the victim in 2023 at a house in New City sometime between Sunday, Jan. 29, and Monday, Jan. 30.
On Monday, Sept.16, Rockland County resident Constantinos Doonan, also known as "Dino," aged 32, of New City, pleaded guilty to the murder of his grandfather, Constantinos Mastakouris.

A man from the region has been arrested twice in three days for allegedly stealing credit and debit cards out of vehicles and using them at area businesses.
Sullivan County resident William T. Staesser, age 28, of Woodbourne, was arrested for the first time on Sunday, Jan. 30, and again on Wednesday, Feb. 2, by the Monticello Police.

A Fairfield County man has admitted to his role in a car theft ring in Connecticut and neighboring states.
Christopher Mulkern, also known as “Chucky,” age 21, of Stratford, pleaded guilty Friday, April 30 before US District Court in Bridgeport to a federal car theft offense.
According to court documents and statements made in court, the FBI, Connecticut State Police, and local police have been investigating multiple car theft rings in Connecticut, and violent crimes that are being committed using stolen vehicles.

20-Year-Old Nabbed For Multiple Credit Card Thefts From Vehicles In Northern Westchester
A Southern Westchester man was arrested on four counts of alleged grand larceny for stealing multiple credit cards out of vehicles.
Peter Eichie Jr., 20, of New Rochelle, was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 10, by Yorktown Police for the thefts which took place on Wednesday, July 8 in the area of Barberry Road, said the Yorktown Police.
