Intoxicated Man Arrested Driving With Dog On Roof In Nanuet, Police Say A Nanuet man was nabbed for DWI after police pulled him over for driving with a dog on the roof of his vehicle. Elvin Mejiagomez, 35, was arrested around 2:20 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, after a Rockland County Sheriff's patrol officers, observed Mejiagomez driving a vehicle in Kennedy Dells Park with his dog on the roof, creating a hazardous situation, the department said. Once stopped, deputies found that Mejiagomez was allegedly driving drunk and had alcohol in the vehicle, the Sheriff's Office said. Northern Westchester Couple Caught With Heroin, Cocaine, Police Say A Northern Westchester couple is behind bars after state police say they were caught with drugs during a traffic stop in Rockland County. The two were arrested for possession of heroin and cocaine after a traffic stop on Interstate 87 in Clarkstown, police said. Christopher Moura, 28, and Cynthia Moura, 34, both of Yorktown Heights, were each charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Christopher Moura was additionally charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs. Both were remanded to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
