A municipality in Northern Westchester has announced its next city judge following the resignation of her predecessor, who was forced to resign after being charged with making sexual innuendos and inappropriate remarks to staff and attorneys on multiple occasions. Facebook Marketplace Sting Nabs Deadbeat Dad From Region, Police Say
A man from the region was nabbed for allegedly not paying more than $8,700 in child support when he posted items for sale on Facebook Marketplace. Sullivan County resident Marcus Molnar, age 46, of Barryville, was arrested on Saturday, Feb. 24, for failure to pay child support. Undersheriff Eric Chaboty of the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office said Molnar is alleged to owe over $8700 in child support payments and has been hiding out in Wayne County, Pennsylvania since September of 2023. Parents Charged In Region For Allegedly Not Paying Thousands In Child Support
Sheriff's deputies in the region charged three people for allegedly failing to pay their child support. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has arrested the following individuals on Family Court warrants for child support violations: Melissa A. Lynch, age 36, of Swan Lake, was charged on Thursday, Feb. 15 for not paying $2,500 in child support. Lynch ran from deputies to avoid apprehension and was caught a short time later, said Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Undersheriff Eric Chaboty. Man From Region Wanted For Failure To Pay Child Support, Charged With Food Stamp Fraud
A man from the region wanted for failing to pay child support was also charged for allegedly collecting $1,000 in food stamps he wasn't entitled to. Sullivan County resident Keith Nash, age 31, of South Fallsburg was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 15 by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office on a family court child support warrant. According to Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, Nash owed $1,200 in support payments. Traffic Stop Leads To Felony Charge For Hamlet Of Wallkill Man
A 31-year-old man was nabbed by members of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office for aggravated driving without a license following a traffic stop. William R. Montanye, of the hamlet of Wallkill, was arrested following the stop last month in the Town of Gardiner for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license and an expired inspection, Sheriff's officials said. A further investigation found Montanye had an active warrant for failure to pay child support.
