Trapped Rafters Rescued From Fast-Moving Hudson Valley River
First responders came to the aid of a pair of rafters from Long Island who were trapped in a river in the Hudson Valley, authorities announced. Four Buildings Destroyed In Three-Alarm Overnight Fire
A three-alarm fire destroyed four buildings and left at least 10 people homeless. The fire started in Dutchess County around 9:26 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, in the City of Poughkeepsie on Dwayne Street, said Fire Chief Mark Johnson. After receiving the 911 calls, Johnson said the department headed to No. 13 Dwayne Street where they found a "very" heavy fire in the rear of the building that was quickly encroaching on two other buildings including No. 11 and No. 15, Johnson said. Area Home Built In 1795 Heavily Damaged By Fire
A LaGrange home built in 1795 received heavy damage following a fire on the second floor and the left side of the home, the LaGrange Fire Department said. The fire started around 10:40 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 15 Skidmore Road, said LaGrange Fire Chief Barry Ward. Arriving units found heavy fire on the second floor of the left side of the home, he added. Two-Alarm House Fire Breaks Out In Poughkeepsie
A two-alarm fire at a two-story, four-apartment City of Poughkeepsie building left 10 residents homeless. The fire, that started around 7:56 a.m. Tuesday at 123 Winnikee Ave., in Poughkeepsie, began on the second floor of the building and by the time the fire was out, the entire building had been devasted. Poughkeepsie House Fire Displaces Family Of Four
A two-alarm fire in the City of Poughkeepsie displaced three children and one adult, according to the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department. Firefighters received notice of the fire around 11:38 a.m. Wednesday at 22 Bement Ave., said City of Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Mark Johnson. The fire, which started in a second-floor bathroom fan, was contained to the room of origin, the chief said.
