What do you think of the nuclear deal with Iran?
- Approve
- Disapprove
- Not really sure
Voters approve of Schumer's performance 54-32 percent. It marks his lowest rating since 2000 when he had had a 52-18 percent rating, the poll said.
The drop in approval comes despite voters largely supporting his opposition of the recent nuclear accord with Iran. Voters opposed the deal 59-32 percent, saying they felt it made the world a more dangerous place, according to the poll.
Voters' opposition of the nuclear deal won't have a huge impact on the veteran senator's chances for re-election. Only 24 percent of voters said his stance would make them more likely to vote for him. That said, 56 percent of voters still feel Schumer deserves another term in office, according to the poll.
