Putnam Will Vote On Governor, Senate, County Races In Tuesday Primary

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. – Polls are open Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the Sept. 9 primary, which includes two county legislator races and several state races with candidates vying to get to the general election Nov. 8.

Former Assemblyman Robert Castelli and sitting Yorktown Councilman Terrence Murphy are vying for the District 40 Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Greg Ball.

At the top of the ballot will be the New York Governor’s seat, which is being contested on the Democratic line by Teachout candidate Zephyr Teachout, as well as Randy Credico. Gov. Andrew Cuomo did not respond to an invitation to debate last Thursday, Sept. 4, leaving the Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino to debate Teachout one on one.

Former Assemblyman Bob Castelli and sitting Yorktown Councilman Terence Murphy are vying for Sen. Greg Ball’s seat in District 40, which he will vacate at the end of his term.
