Cuomo is outpacing Astorino 56-30 percent among likely voters. As expected, the governor is expected to land 75 percent of the Democratic vote in a historically blue state. Cuomo is further distancing himself from his Republican challenger by expecting to reel in roughly 31 percent of GOP voters as well, the poll said.

Astorino's biggest problem, as it has been through most of the campaign season, is failure to gain recognition throughout most of the state.

“The poll suggests Astorino hasn’t gotten any traction,” Dr. Lee M. Miringoff, director of the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion said in a statement.  “Astorino has been unable to dent Cuomo’s image while Cuomo has successfully defined his opponent.”
