Former GOP Presidential Nominee Romney Endorses Astorino

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Former Republican nominee Mitt Romney sent out an email asking fellow members of the GOP to throw their support and finances behind Rob Astorino, according to the Democrat and Chronicle.

Romney applauded Astorino's efforts in a predominantly Democratic community and bashed Gov. Andrew Cuomo for reportedly using too much taxpayer money for "StartUpNY," The Democrat and Chronicle said.

Romney has now been backed by several prominent Republicans including Jeb Bush and Rick Perry, the Democrat and Chronicle reported.
