Both Teachout and Astorino agreed that they would have let the Moreland Commission continue to work independently and would not have shut it down, newsday.com said.

When pressed to answer why he refused to debate the other candidates, Cuomo said he campaigns by doing his job, newsday.com reported.

Teachout is challenging Cuomo in the Democratic primary on Tuesday, Sept. 9 and Astorino is the Republican candidate in November's general election.
