On Friday, Feb. 24, state police from the East Fishkill barracks stopped Brookfield, Conn. resident Stacey Bencivengo on I-84 when she failed to maintain her lane of travel.

According to police, during the traffic stop, troopers determined that the 48-year-old Bencivengo was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. The subsequent investigation revealed that Bencivengo had two previous DWI related convictions in 2008 and 2010.

Bencivengo provided a breath sample that determined she had a blood alcohol content of .22 percent, more than two times the legal limit, police said. She was arraigned in the Town of Patterson Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. She is due in the Town of Southeast Court on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
