Mahopac Ladder Co. headed for the roof as Mahopac and Mahopac Falls interior crews entered and found smoke inside but no fire. As crews searched, it was found that it was an electrical fire stemming from a roof mounted A/C motor that had possibly overheated.
Mahopac FD responded with a pumper, two pumper/tankers and a Ladder assignment while Mahopac Falls put two pumper/tankers and a Heavy Rescue on the road.
MVFD Asst. Chief Bill Nikisher took the Incident Command role as Asst. Chief Jay Kinash took on Operations. Battalion 6 Ted Pollack responded and assisted at the scene.
After double checking the structure, crews started picking up and headed for home.
