The arrest came about after a deputy stopped a motorist who had committed a traffic violation on Nardin Road in the Town of Putnam Valley, on Tuesday, April 19, at approximately 7:06 p.m., police report.
The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Heather L. Farr of Cortlandt Manor, was in possession of a quantity of a controlled substance and a hypodermic needle; The deputy further determined that a passenger in the vehicle, identified as Daniel J. Platoni, also of Cortlandt Manor, was in possession of a quantity of a controlled substance, according to officials.
The deputy arrested both motorists, police report.
Farr was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, along with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, both misdemeanors, according to police.
Platoni was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, officials report.
Farr and Platoni were processed at the sheriff's Nelsonville Substation and released without bail. They were ordered to return to Putnam Valley Justice Court to answer the charges on Thursday, May 12, according to police.
