According to state police, on Saturday, April 1, troopers stopped the driver of a Nissan Sentra on Route 6 for failing to maintain its lane of travel. During the subsequent stop, police determined that 27-year-old Taniqua Scott, the passenger, was in possession of drugs.
Police said that Scott was allegedly in possession of MDMA, more commonly known as ecstasy, codeine, marijuana and Tylenol. She was arrested and charged with a felony count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Scott was arraigned in the Town of Patterson Justice Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond. She is due to appear in Southeast Court on Tuesday, April 11.
