Man At Large After 115 MPH DWI Wrong-Way Southeast Chase

State Police are on the lookout for a 22-year-old man who is wanted on a series of charges after allegedly drinking and driving more than 110 mph while attempting to evade police on I-84 in Putnam County late last year.

An alert was issued this week for Waterbury, Conn. resident Jose Rosado, who was busted by troopers last October driving 115 mph in the wrong direction on the interstate during a late-night joyride.

Troopers attempted to stop Rosado, but said that he sped away when he saw the police lights and sirens, taking the troopers on a chase that ended on Old Mine Road.

When Rosado eventually relented and stopped his vehicle, police said that he became combative toward the troopers, physically attempting to resist arrest before eventually being apprehended.

Once in custody, Rosado was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, obstructing a government official, reckless endangerment of property and driving while intoxicated, all misdemeanors. He failed to appear in Southeast Court to answer the charges and a bench warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Police described Rosado as 5-foot-3 with black hair and brown eyes. He weighed approximately 125 pounds at the time of his arrest. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts, or who may spot him, have been asked to contact state police investigators by calling (845) 677-7300 or emailing CrimeTip@troopers.ny.gov.
