Mahopac Woman Charged With DWI Following Traffic Stop

MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- A 37-year-old Mahopac woman is facing an aggravated DWI charge following a traffic stop last week by Putnam County sheriff's police along Route 6N in Mahopac, police said.

Jennifer Rist, 37, of Boniello Drive, Mahopac, is charged with misdemeanor aggravated driving while intoxicated. She was released on an appearance ticket pending a Monday, April 18, court date in Carmel Justice Court, police said.

Police stopped her car about 1:15 a.m. March 24 for traffic violations, police said. The driver failed several field sobriety tests, police said.

The misdemeanor charge carries a punishment of up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000, police said.
