MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- A large brush fire that broke out around noon on Sunday near Bucks Hollow Road in Mahopac has been contained.
Bucks Hollow Road was closed at Battista Drive and Bloomer Road while firefighters battled the blaze.
The Mahopac Fire Department responded with two chiefs, a brush truck and a pumper tanker, fire police, Battalion 6 and units from Carmel Police.
First on the scene, Chief Bill Bahr requested mutual aid from Mahopac Falls Fire Department with its brush truck, as there was a fairly large brush fire on both sides of the road.
The cause of the fire has not been determined and is being investigated by Carmel Police.
