The man, who owns the commercial lot, was clearing the property when he came across more than 10 pounds of trinitrotoluene (TNT) and blasting caps in an old trailer on the property, sheriff's officials said.

The explosives are believed to have been the property of the land's former owner, who owned a blasting company before he passed away, sheriff's officials said.

Responding Deputy Sheriff Alfred Pizzuto secured the scene and the Westchester County Police Bomb Squad responded to the location to safely remove and dispose of the items, sheriff's officials added.
