Carmel Man, 27, Faces Dwai Charge

CARMEL, N.Y. – A Carmel man was charged Friday, Sept. 4, with driving with ability impaired by drugs, reports the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

Evan M. Simone, 27, of 3 Hazel Lane, Carmel, was stopped for committing multiple traffic violations about 8:48 p.m. on Farmers Mills Road in Kent. Further investigation revealed Simone was under the influence of drugs, officials say.

He was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and unlawful possession of marijuana. If found guilty, Simone faces up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000, according to the Sheriff's Office.
