Ronald Sabella, 80, Directed Dental Practice In Putnam

Dr. Ronald A. Sabella, who managed a dental practice in Putnam, died on July 5 in Naples, Fl. He was 80 years old.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, July 15 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, 1625 Pine Ridge Road in Naples.

Dr. Sabella was born Dec. 2, 1936, in The Bronx, the son of Mildred Milo and Albert Sabella. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hunter College in 1958 and went on to complete a Doctor of Dental Medicine at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey in 1962. In 1963, he was appointed a Reserve Commissioned Officer in the United States Army and served as Captain of the Army Dental Corps until his honorable discharge in 1973.

He successfully built and managed a thriving dental practice for over 35 years in Putnam Valley and was also a Clinical Assistant Professor in the College of Dentistry at both NYU and Fairleigh Dickinson University. He later moved to Garrison and was named a Fellow of the United States Academy of General Dentistry in 1993.

He and his wife Andrea retired to Naples in 1994 where he became actively involved in real estate sales and property management.

He was a lifelong fan of baseball and loyal to the New York Yankees. Social causes of great importance where he donated money and time included U.S. Veteran Affairs, The Wounded Warrior Project, ASPCA Animal Care and Rescue, The American Heart Association and The American Cancer Society.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea Pink-Seifert, his daughter from his first marriage, Mildred R. Sabella, his step-children, Drew and Dana Seifert and his beloved Yorkshire Terrier, Sasha Marie. He was preceded in death by his parents, his two half-brothers, Daniel J. Spinella and Albert Sabella Jr., and his step-son, Darren Seifert.

Memorial donations may be made to The American Heart Association in his name.
