MAHOPAC, N.Y. - Maria Ellen Duffy of Mahopac died Wednesday, Sept. 3. She was 67.
Duffy was born May 18, 1947, in the Bronx, to Phillip and Nicola Farella Diorio. She was a teacher and founder of the St. John's playgroup in Mahopac, was on the Mahopac School Board for many years.
Duffy is survived by her children, Dorann (Larry) Morra and Joseph Duffy; brothers, Phillip (Ann Marie) and Richard (Gina); sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Mary; four cousins; four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; and grandson, Larry Jr.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at St. John The Evangelist Church in Mahopac.
