Police said Garfield O. Barnett, a 48-year-old Yonkers resident, was charged with second-degree menacing, and Noel Rivera, a 47-year-old New Jersey resident, was charged with third-degree menacing; both charges are misdemeanors.
Barnett and Rivera became involved in the altercation after arguing about which way to unload a truck, and one of the subjects displayed a knife, police said.
Police said an investigation revealed that both men feared for their personal safety and believed that one was intending to do harm to the other.
Barnett and Rivera were processed at Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.
If found guilty of the misdemeanor charges, the defendants could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000 for each charge.
