PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Look, up in the sky!
It's a bird.
It's a plane.
It's rain?
Yes, rain. The farmer's friend that has seldom been seen in these parts the past few weeks will be making a return engagement in the region this week, according to the National Weather Service.
The chance for rain also will be 40 percent Tuesday with a high near 78 dgrees, the service said.
That likelihood increases to 60 percent Tuesday night with thunderstorms also a possibility after 9 p.m, the service said. Rainfall amounts between 1/2 and 3/4 of an inch are possible, the service said.
That same forecast carries into Wednesday, with another 1/4 to 1/2 inch of rain possible, the service said.
