Patterson Councilman Peter Dandreano, a Greenburgh police officer with 25 years on the job, spoke to about 75 people at the firehouse, advising them on what to do if they get caught in a mass shooting, according to theexaminernews.com.

Dandreano, who spoke on Monday, Jan. 25, recommended dropping everything and fleeing the scene immediately without pausing to seek out others, according to theexaminernews.com.

Dandreano continued to advise supervisors in the workplace to be prepared for such incidents, according to theexaminernews.com. Dandreano added that confronting the shooter should be the absolute last resort.
