Man Stopped On I-84 In Putnam Had Untaxed Cigarettes, Police Say

PATTERSON, N.Y. – A Rhode Island man was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 14, for possession of untaxed cigarettes, according to New York State Police.

Daniel J. Slader, 37, was stopped on Interstate 84 in Patterson for erratic vehicle operation. During the traffic stop, police also found untaxed cigarettes.

Slader was charged with tax fraud and criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was sent to Putnam County Jail on a $1,500 cash, $3,000 bond.
