Janitor Charged With Using Vacuum To Steal $3,900K At Brewster Marshall's

BREWSTER, N.Y. -- State Police charged a man with using a hollowed out vacuum cleaner to steal thousands of dollars worth of items from Marshall's department store in Brewster on Wednesday, Sept. 24, according to LoHud.com.

Abrahm Martinez, 34, of New Jersey was allegedly caught on camera loading approximately $3,900 worth of goods into a secret compartment of a vacuum cleaner. Martinez was part of a three-man crew hired to work overnight to strip and wax the floors of the Brewster store, LoHud.com said. 

Martinez was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, attempted grand larceny and two counts of criminal possession of an anti-security device. He was remanded to Putnam County Jail on $20,000 bond, LoHud.com reported.
