Car Slips Out Of Gear In Mahopac Falls, Causing Serious Injuries To One

MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- Emergency responders converged on Concord Road in Mahopac Falls on Sunday after a person was struck by a vehicle that slipped out of gear, according to authorities.

The injuries sustained were reported to be serious, and the person was transported for medical treatment by STAT flight helicopter. Mahopac Falls Fire set up a Landing Zone at Fire Headquarters on Luccaro Lane as the victim was being transported to the helicopter landing zone.  Carmel Police units were on the scene to investigate and then assisted at the landing zone.

Neither the gender nor age of the injured person has been released.
