Body Found In Hudson River Near West Point

WEST POINT, N.Y. -- State Police reported Saturday afternoon that they located and removed a body from the Hudson River in the area of the West Point Military Academy earlier in the day.

The body was transported to the Orange County morgue where an autopsy will be performed, police said.

An investigation has been launched and remains ongoing.

There has been no announcement of the identity of the person.

Officials have been searching for the body of 46-year-old Vincent Viafore, whose fiancee, Angelika Graswald, has been charged with murdering him while the two were kayaking near Bannerman's Island in mid April.
