That was the feeling among people in the county Tuesday as it deals with two consecutive days of 90-degree weather for the first time this year. The heat sent many fleeing for the comfort of an air conditioner.

"I can't say I'm a fan," said Marty Collins of Carmel. "I've been here for 40 years and I've noticed a definite change in the weather. We've had severe winters and now we're having a severe summer. I like spring and I like fall."

Collins said she was glad her office had air conditioning.

"This is delightful," Collins said.

Anna Gragert, of Putnam Valley said the heatwave was making her feel terrible.

"It was depressing getting out of the car," Gragert said. "I want to stay in the air conditioning. I like the sun, but from the window. I prefer when it's in the 60s, this is just too much."

Katie Demarco said the heat was just too much for her.

"I'm over summer," Demarco said. "I am looking forward to fall."

Like Gragert, Demarco said she prefers when the weather is in the 60s.

Wednesday's high is expected to be 87 degrees.
