Babboni is the man behind the Honey Do Men, serving Putnam, Westchester and Dutchess and specializing in roof cleaning and restorations, roofing, gutters, chimneys, siding, windows, doors and handyman services.

A 1996 Somers High graduate, Babboni explains on his website that he learned his trade out of necessity.

His parents' divorce at age 3 was followed by Babboni's dad exiting the picture when he was 5, and the family faced financial challenges.

"We couldn't afford to pay someone to fix things around the house, so I had to learn," Babboni explained.

He graduated from Westchester Community College in 1998, and started his company in 2001.

"I was taught by my mom and the Boy Scouts that you always have to give back," he told Daily Voice. "You have to volunteer, help the less fortunate. I'm an Eagle Scout, and that's a motto... to give back."

Honey Do Men give back to the community in a number of ways. One is a free event on Saturday, Dece. 3, a block party from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 1995 Route 6 in Carmel, the company's Carmel location.

Highlights will include an appearance by Santa and Mrs Claus, and Elf, a gingerbread bouncy house, photos for kids and balloon animals, as well as a tree lighting at 5 p.m., and live reindeer.

Donations from the event will go to Maria Fareri Children's Hospital in Valhalla. A patient from the hospital is also scheduled to be on hand to flip on the switch for the light show.

Babboni's company also offers a Honey Do Men "Job for Free'' for auction to charities, they offer a Good Samaritan Award where they give away free services to needy community members, and they also offer an Entrepreneurial Scholarship to graduating high school students who show an entrepreneurial spirit, while giving back to their own community.

This year the company will hand out three $1,000-dollar scholarships - one each to Somers, Yorktown and Carmel High Schools.
