"It's a beautiful store, just wonderful," Suzy Araneo, who drove nearly an hour from Shrub Oak, told Daily Voice. "You walk in, and it's just breathtaking. All the time and effort they must put into those ornaments... People should know about it. This is a diamond in the rough."
Owner Patty Searson, a Dutchess resident, and her daughter Margeaux Bendotti, of Sherman Conn., run the store - which is celebrating its 40th year - and obviously put a tremendous amount of time into hanging so many ornaments into the already packed space.
"We specialize in new and old jewelry, sterling silver, and when the holidays come, we deck the halls with ornaments," Searson said. "People really like coming in at Christmas time. It puts you in the Christmas spirit when you walk in the door... and they never know what they'll find in here."
How many ornaments do they hang during holiday time? "Thousands," Searson said. "We've been doing it for 15 years. It started out small, then we kept adding."
As the store web site explains: the shop continuously visits gift shows for fresh new items and estate sales for beautiful antiques to bring an eclectic collection of jewelry, gifts, equestrian collectables, furniture, women’s accessories, and other home decor items.
