We asked for your top picks for our DVlicious “Best Soup in Putnam County” contest and whittled it down to three finalists. Each is being profiled this week with the winner selected Monday, Feb. 22. Here’s a “bowl-ful” rundown on one of them.

Silver Spoon Restaurant, 124 Main St., Cold Spring, (845) 265-2525

Number of Soups Offered: There are weekly specials, like a seafood chowder, crammed with lobster, mussels, clams, calamari and shrimp. The three that are always on the menu are: Maryland crab soup, served in a toasted bread bowl; Tatianna’s homemade chili, served in a toasted bread bowl with melted cheddar cheese; and French onion, with carmelized sherry glazed onions, melted swiss and provolone cheeses, and croutons.

Worth Dishing About: Everything’s made from scratch, with an emphasis on farm-to-table ingredients. Like other eateries and shops on the rest of the village’s Main Street, Silver Spoon has a small-town atmosphere and a friendly staff.
