Rosko, a longtime Lake Carmel resident, lost her home and all her belongings when her house burned to the ground Monday morning.
Rosko works at Smalley Inn in Carmel, where owner Tony Porto, co-worker Kristi (Leggs) Farina and others decided to hold a fundraiser Saturday night starting at 8 p.m. to try to help Rosko get back on her feet.
"She had a house on the lake for 10 or 12 years," Porto told Daily Voice. "It was totally destroyed... everything she owned is gone.
"I wanted to help with a fundraiser," he added. "Some of the County Legislators will be here, the Red Cross has been great, and people have been donating clothes, and other things."
Rosko escaped the house only with her shoes and her cats.
"Everybody's been great," Porto said. "People have reached out... it's a great feeling to have the community. I couldn't believe how many friends came out... as soon as they found out what she lost they all helped."
Smalley's will have Karaoke, free food, and a DJ.
Smalley's is hoping for donations including women's pants (size 9-10), shirts (medium). "Anything you might use daily," said Farina. "Hairbrushes, toothbrushes, toiletries... anything will help."
