Children will assemble in the parking lot area behind the Old Countryhouse in Carmel at 1 p.m., and the parade will begin at 1:30 p.m.
They will march out of the driveway, past a reviewing stand on the courthouse steps and proceed north up Gleneida Avenue to the Carmel Firehouse where all children will receive door prizes and refreshments.
There will be prizes awarded to the best costume for each preschool, kindergarten and first grade. Second through fourth grade will also be awarded a prize for the best costume in the grade range.
Children can also get their faces painted by the 4H Face Painting Club. Admission is free.
The event will be held rain or shine. In the event of heavy rain, children and parents can go directly to the firehouse.
