Putnam Valley Grange Teaches Residents How To Become A Vermicomposter

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. --  Putnam Valley Grange will be hosting a vermicomposting program, as part of its Backyard Farming Workshop Series, on Monday, July 21 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Putnam Valley Grange is located at 128 Mill Street on Peekskill Hollow Road, Putnam Valley. 

This workshop will help participants learn how to limit the amount of times garbage is taken out and how much is produced. Additionally, participants will learn how worms can eat garbage indoors. Learn what worms like to eat, the environment they thrive in and the vermicompost (worm vastings) they create. 

There is a $15 advance registration fee and $20 for walk-ins. Children are welcome.
