Mahopac Library Offering Defensive Driving Course

MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- Jack Coxen will lead a defensive driving insurance point reduction class from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12 at Mahopac Public Library.

The course consists of discussions about driving behaviors and attitudes and a series of films. Although the class is designed for licensed drivers, those with learners permits also may attend.

Upon completion of the class, attendees may get a maximum of four points off their driver's violation record and a 10 percent liability insurance discount to the principal operator.

The class is $45 or $25 for seniors 65 and older. Register in advance at the information desk with the course fee.
