The Kent Public Library will hold a Minecraft Club for teens on the third Friday of each month, from 5:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. Play Minecraft in creative mode on the library's multiplayer server. The next meeting will be Friday, Oct. 17. For ages 13-18. Space is limited. Registration is required. The 4-H Puppeteer Players of Putnam County will be performing at The Kent Public Library on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. This humorous and entertaining puppet show is sure to amuse the entire family. Registration is requested, but walk-ins are welcome. Intermediate level clarinet players in 6th-8th grade are invited to join the “Clarinet Crowd” at the Kent Public Library. Come and practice your skills with fellow clarinetists and develop advanced playing techniques! The group will meet on Saturdays, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., beginning Saturday, Oct. 18. The Clarinet Crowd will be facilitated by two CHS Wind Ensemble members. Space is limited. Registration is required. A five week Basic Drawing art workshop for adults will be held at the Kent Public Library on Wednesdays, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., beginning Wednesday, Oct. 22. Participants will learn the basic concepts and techniques needed to begin to draw. Attendees will be introduced to basic drawing tools, and will be encouraged to be creative and have fun.
The class will be taught by artist Mary Schreiber, who teaches art classes locally for both adults and children. All materials will be provided. This class is intended for beginners or for those who would like to refresh their skills. Space is limited. Registration is required.
