The worshop runs from 3-5 p.m., and the performance starts at 7 p.m.
This play is led by performers Lora Lee Ecobelli, Eddie Allen, Nancy Rothman and Andrew Joffee. This new ensemble at Blue Horse is an outgrowth of Walking the Dog's Off Leash Improvisation in Chatham.
James Shearwood, Art on the Lake's theater programs director, said, “Participants can expect to experience fun, terror, confusion, love, hate and all the other human emotions that come from being in a story the end of which has not yet been written.”
For the evening performance at 7 p.m., suggestions taken from the audience will be incorporated into the play and advance the stories.
“Although improvisation has been part of the play rehearsal process for centuries,” said Shearwood, “it is only in recent years where it has become also a performance art. Watching performers spontaneously create dialogue, a setting and a plot means no two performances are ever alike.”
Tickets to the performance are $15, with discounts for AotL members and students. The workshop tuition is $24, also with discounts for members and students. Workshop tuition includes also admission to the evening performance. Click here for tickets.
Arts on the Lake is in the Lake Carmel Arts Center, 640 Route 52, Kent Lakes.
