Local Jobs Decline In Dutchess But Hudson Valley Region Continues To Grow

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Jobs in the Dutchess-Putnam area declined in the most recent state Department of Labor report, but the Hudson Valley region saw the market grow, according to the Pougkeepsie Journal.

The Dutchess-Putnam statistical area fell versus the same period last year with the loss of 300 government jobs, but the private sector was able to gain 100 new jobs, the Pougkeepsie Journal said. 

The statistical area's decline stands in contrast to the Hudson Valley region as a whole, which gained 13,100 jobs and grew 1.8 percent, The Poughkeepsie Journal reported.
