Father, Son Team Up To Open New Wine & Liquor Store In Mahopac

MAHOPAC, N.Y. - Mahopac resident Theodore Lampropoulos said he opened his new store because after touring other area liquor stores, he thought he could do better.

"They weren't up to par," Lampropoulos told Daily Voice. "The selection. ... They weren't modern. I felt I could do something better."

So Lampropoulos and his father, Danny, joined forces and opened Mahopac Wine & Liquor. The store opened two weeks ago and is set for an official grand opening and ribbon cutting Friday, March 3 at 5 p.m.

What makes Lampropoulos' store different? "We brought in new brands, small batches, New York State stuff, Long Island wines," Lampropoulos said. "We'll have tastings every weekend, case discounts, offer lots of rebates, and we'll have hand numbered tequilas and vodkas. It means better quality, everything is not mass produced."

Lampropoulos said he started working on the space four months ago, and redid everything from floor to ceiling.

"So far people seem to be excited about the new store," Lampropoulos said. "I think people will like our tasting of wines from different regions... they'll be able to try new wines, Napa Valley wines, Hamptons wines. And we'll try to get anything people ask us for."

Mahopac Wine & Liquor is located at 954 South Lake Blvd in Mahopac.
