Long Island Woman Charged With DWI After Crash Seriously Injures 41-Year-Old A woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a crash on Long Island that seriously injured a man. The incident occurred at about 12:35 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the intersection of Route 112 and Sunrise Highway South Service Road in North Patchogue.  Aleshia Davis, age 39, of Medford, was driving a 2024 Audi Q7 southbound on Route 112 when her vehicle struck an eastbound 2011 Hyundai Sonata, according to Suffolk County Police. West Nile Virus Found In Mosquitoes On Long Island; Here's How To Protect Yourself Health officials on Long Island are urging people to take precautions after testing of mosquitoes confirmed the presence of West Nile Virus. Twelve mosquito samples were positive for the virus following testing done at locations around Suffolk County, according to county Health Commissioner Dr. Gregson Pigott.
