Authorities identified a man who was killed in an early-morning chain-reaction crash that closed the Long Island Expressway for several hours. The wreck happened in Jericho, in the eastbound lanes between exits 39 and 41, just after 3 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5. Nassau County Police said a Chevy Suburban was heading eastbound when the driver lost control and overturned. Nassau County House Fire Leaves Family Dog Dead
A house fire on Long Island left a dog dead. The blaze began at about 4 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 on Seaman Road in Jericho. Responders arrived to find the home engulfed in flames from the second floor and heavy smoke throughout. All residents made it out safely, though the family’s dog was found dead inside. The Nassau County PD Arson Bomb Squad and the Nassau County Fire Marshal are investigating. Firefighters from Jericho, with assistance from Syosset, Hicksville, Westbury, Plainview, Bethpage, South Farmingdale, Glenwood, and Carle Place, responded and extinguished the fire.

Video Shows Trio Ransacking Home In Jericho
If you recognize these alleged burglars, police want to hear from you. Three women are being sought after allegedly breaking into a Long Island residence and ransacking the place. Watch video of the incident below. It happened in Jericho, at a home on 16th Street, shortly before 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21. 3 Hospitalized After Overnight Long Island Expressway Crash In Jericho
Two men and a woman were hospitalized after an overnight crash on the Long Island Expressway. It happened just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, in Jericho. That's when a 2016 Volvo tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound and struck a 2005 Isuzu in the vicinity of Exit 40E, according to Nassau County Police. The driver of the Isuzu, a 55-year-old man, was establishing a construction zone at the time of the accident, Nassau County Police said. Inside Job: Pair Steals Copper Wire From Long Island Employer, Police Say
Two Long Island men were arrested after police allegedly discovered they were swiping copper wire from their employer. Nassau County Police Department received notification of the theft from a company in Jericho between Wednesday, May 15, and Thursday, May 16. The report indicated that a burglar had stolen copper wire from Getty Terminal Corp, located at 125 Jericho Turnpike.
