Beloved Firefighter Dies After Over 25 Years Of Service In Region
A Hudson Valley fire department is mourning the loss of one of its active members who served his community for more than a quarter of a century. The death of Robert "Link" Linkenhoker was announced by Putnam County's Brewster Fire Department on Wednesday, Oct. 16. His age and cause of death were not made public. According to the department, Linkenhoker joined the department in 1998 and continued serving up to his death. 53-Year-Old Woman Killed In 2-Car Crash In Region
A 53-year-old Hudson Valley woman was killed in a two-car crash. The incident occurred in Rockland County at 9:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 14, at the intersection of New Hempstead Road and Summit Park Road in Ramapo. According to Sgt. Shawn Bakker of the Ramapo Police, responding officers found a 2000 Ford Taurus and a 2007 Honda Accord had crashed. Bakker said that a 69-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman, both residents of Spring Valley, occupied the Ford. Both were transported to Nyack Hospital by Spring Hill Ambulance. A man was hit and killed by a vehicle while walking in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Orange County at around 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, at Industrial Drive and Fortune Road East in Wallkill. According to Lt. One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley. It happened at around 7:40 a.m. Saturday, July 27 on a stretch of I-84 in Orange County.
