73-Year-Old ID'd As Drowning Victim In Sagaponack Authorities have identified a drowning victim on Long Island. The Southampton Town Police Department said it received an abandoned 911 call from the vicinity of Gibson Lane in Sagaponack at about 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4. Dispatchers were able to re-contact the caller who reported a man was missing in the water after going swimming at Gibson Beach.  Southampton Town Police patrol officers, Marine Units, detectives, Bridgehampton FD and EMS responded to the area to search for the man.
