TD Bank Robbery Suspect Nabbed Week After Lake Ronkonkoma Heist: Police
The man who robbed a TD Bank in Lake Ronkonkoma has been arrested about a week after making off with the cash, police said Friday, May 15.
Sage Arias-Brown, 33, was nabbed Friday and set for arraignment on a charge of third-degree robbery on Saturday, May 16, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
Arias-Brown, of Lake Ronkonkoma, entered TD Bank at 474 Portion Road around 5:15 p.m. on Friday, May 8 and passed the teller a note demanding cash, investigators said.
The teller complied with the note, and Arias-Brown fled on foot, cops said. He will be held overnight following his detainmen…

A suspect has been arrested more than a year after a Long Island man was killed in a carjacking, authorities announced Monday, May 11.
Jason Buttchampagne, 25, was charged with second-degree murder for the killing of Donald Klune in Deer Park in December 2024, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
Klune, a 65-year-old Deer Park man, was sitting in his car, a 2009 Mitsubishi, on Brook Avenue around 8:35 p.m. on Dec. 11, 2024, when at least one person approached the vehicle, yanked him out of the car, then punched and kicked him at the scene, police said. He died two days later.

At least six burglaries across Nassau County were committed by a Queens man who is also wanted in Texas and had entered the U.S. illegally, police said Wednesday, May 6.
Mario Hurtado Galindo, 37, was arrested around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 5 for the break-ins across New Hyde Park, Westbury, Bethpage, Woodmere, and Roslyn Heights, the Nassau County Police Department said.
Hurtado Galindo took jewelry, designer handbags, and cash in his burglaries, according to investigators. He was nabbed following an extensive investigation.

A North Massapequa man is accused of robbing a TD Bank with nothing more than a note demanding money, Nassau County police announced on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
Philip V. Ferrito Jr, 44, of Margaret Road, walked into the branch at 145 Stewart Avenue in Bethpage at 2:18 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, according to detectives.
Ferrito allegedly approached a teller, handed over a note demanding U.S. currency, and fled after the employee, fearing for his life, complied, police said.
Detectives tracked Ferrito down following an investigation and arrested him without incident.

The 71-year-old man had just won a large cash payout at Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel on Express Drive North when Aaron Hayes, 24, approached him in the parking lot at 3:40 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7, according to police.
